Service Description

Our society has become more risk averse and this can leave us in situations, in helping others, where we feel we have to act in a way that is likely to damage relationships. Situations that require a depth of thought we do not always need in our day-to-day lives. Aims of this workshop are to: It is intended that after this workshop you will gain more knowledge, grow in confidence and increase skill in managing any risk issues you come across in your practice in a sensitive but effective way. Who is this workshop for ? This workshop is suitable for anyone working in the helping professions e.g. Counsellors, nurses, doctors, social workers, student healthcare professionals, police, teachers etc… Areas covered In a 6 hour day (1000 - 1630) we will cover the following: ● Different types of risk. ● Risk and MH - the impact of stigma. ● Positive risk taking. ● Risk assessment and tools. ● Responsibility and risk. A completion certificate for 6hours CPD will be provided at the end of the course. FEE: £80 workshop fee £70 (£10 discount for students) £90 in abundance - if you are in abundance and can afford to pay extra, £20 of your fee will be used to help fund a place in one of our workshops for people with lived experience of mental distress or on benefits. No lunch provided
